Objective
The purpose of this operations manual is to regulate the organization and operation of Gaceta CONBIOÉTICA.
Definitions
For the purposes of this operations manual, the following shall be understood as follows:
- National Bioethics Commission: CONBIOÉTICA
- Publisher: Permanyer Publications
- Journal: Gaceta CONBIOÉTICA.
General Terms
The following criteria are mandatory for all persons involved in the operation of the Journal, including authors and peer reviewers.
- CONBIOÉTICA is the owner of the Journal, the trademark rights and the corresponding copyrights.
- During the term of the agreement between CONBIOÉTICA and the Publisher, the latter will have full and exclusive publishing rights to the Journal.
- The trademark rights and copyrights belonging to CONBIOÉTICA must be acknowledged in a disclaimer by the Publisher responsible for the publication of the Journal; it will also be announced that it is an official publication of CONBIOÉTICA.
- The Journal is published bianually, online and in Spanish and English.
- The content of the Journal will be available free of charge to the scientific community, at no cost to authors or readers.
- The members of the Editorial Committee and the Scientific Committee of the journal will be selected on the basis of their experience and position within their scientific field, knowledge of the subject matter, and consideration of the current or anticipated geographic scope of the scientific discipline of the journal.
Composition
- The operational staff of the Journal is composed of 1 Editor-in-Chief, 1 Associate Editor, 1 Co-Editor, Editorial Committee and the Scientific Committee.
- The Editors must have experience in the editorial field and will be responsible for implementing the best editorial practices in the process of scientific evaluation and editing of manuscripts received. They must also ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the editorial processes, identifying risks and implementing improvement plans as deemed necessary.
- The Editorial Committee and the Scientific Committee will be selected by the Editors.
- The Editorial Committee must have experience in the area. Their role is to support the Editors in all their functions, evaluate the manuscripts received associated with their subject area, assign reviewers they consider optimal according to their specialties, as well as any other function assigned to them.
