Editorial policies

Gaceta CONBIOÉTICA is governed by the following policies:

The journal will have a unique name and design, will have publishing licenses (including Creative Commons), national and international indexing, and ISSN. Likewise, the journal will have its own secure web page.

 

Gaceta CONBIOÉTICA considers for publication research studies that contribute to the study of Bioethics as a disciplinary field and analytical tool, in the context of scientific progress and the development and impact of emerging technologies in the spheres of life, health and the environment, in addition to incorporating into the public agenda the social debate, with an evidence-based, secular, inclusive and interdisciplinary approach, which promotes respect for human rights.


Manuscripts that adhere to international best practice recommendations will be evaluated.

Manuscripts submitted will be evaluated according to their methodological quality, originality, timeliness, relevance, scientific contribution, pertinence to the objectives of Gaceta CONBIOÉTICA and adherence to ethical principles. Authorship should follow COPE principles (https://publicationethics.org/files/COPE_DD_A4_Authorship_SEPT19_SCREEN_AW.pdf).

 

Inclusive language will be promoted. Authors should express their conflict of interest and will be responsible for the content of the article.

The publication will be in Spanish and English, electronically, in open access, at no cost to authors or readers, and will be financed by the National Bioethics Commission. Any external financing will be done through the National Bioethics Commission and will be independent of the editorial process and decision. The editors will evaluate the pertinence of the inclusion of advertisers in the publication.

The evaluation process will be carried out in a systematized and agile manner with quality, transparency, consistency, timeliness and will include review by academic peers, in a blinded manner for both the author and the reviewer (double blind). Reviewers will receive written recognition for their voluntary participation.

The publisher will provide an electronic platform for editorial management and a repository of published articles. The editors and the publisher will agree on the annual editorial schedule.

Accepted manuscripts will be published ahead of print. Post-publication discussion will be conducted through Letters to the Editor. Acceptance of the manuscript for publication implies automatic assignment of rights for publication of the article to the National Bioethics Commission.
